Workshops are held on the first Saturday of every month starting at 9am. The venue rotates between Ken Gregory's residence (map and directions) and Izzy Lieberman's residence (map and directions). As usual, this is a chance for good friends and fellow microscopists to talk about our favorite subject. You are invited to bring any manner of items related to microscopy to share it with the fellowship. If you have something you would like to sell, please feel free to bring it and set it up at the sales table. All are encouraged to participate and join in the fun. The workshop will finish at about noon, at which point we will retire to lunch in the local Coco’s.

2007 "Hands-On" Practical Workshops
On occasion the Society also holds "hands-on" practical workshops, typically on a quarterly basis. Details will be posted as the program is firmed up. The MSSC has an ongoing need for facilitators of these "hands-on" workshops. If you are interested in delivering a workshop please contact the Program Chair (see Contacts)
Forthcoming events:
Friday, February 2, 2007, 4:00 pm. Talk and tour of the Getty Conservation Institute's microscopy labs. Eric Doehne will give a powerpoint presentation followed by a lab tour. The museum is open until 9pm that evening, so you can visit the galleries afterwards if you which, see http://www.getty.edu/visit/calendar/days/02022007.html for exhibition information. Parking at the Getty is $8 per car, so carpooling would be advised. For directions see http://www.getty.edu/visit/hours/ . Members should aim to arrive at the Getty at about 3:30 pm. After parking in the lower main parking lot, members should catch the tram up the hill. When they get off the tram, they should ask for directions to Getty Central Security, where they will be met at 3:50pm and escorted to the Conservation Institute's labs. Please do arrive on time so the tour can start promptly at 4pm. Limited to 20 attendees, first-come, first-served basis. RSVP to Jim Solliday (this tour is now full). |
