Workshops are held on the first Saturday of every month starting at 9am. The venue rotates between Ken Gregory's residence (map and directions) and Allen Bishop's residence (map and directions). As usual, this is a chance for good friends and fellow microscopists to talk about our favorite subject. You are invited to bring any manner of items related to microscopy to share it with the fellowship. If you have something you would like to sell, please feel free to bring it and set it up at the sales table. All are encouraged to participate and join in the fun. The workshop will finish at about noon, at which point we will retire to lunch in the local Coco’s.

2012 Special Workshops

On occasion the Society also holds special or "hands-on" practical workshops, typically on a quarterly basis. Details will be posted as the program is firmed up.

The MSSC has an ongoing need for facilitators of these "hands-on" workshops. If you are interested in delivering a workshop please contact the Program Chair (see Contacts)

Forthcoming events:

MSSC Workshop, March 3, 2012 9:30 a.m. - noon

MSSC member and friend, Dario Solares recently passed away at the age of 92. As always the officers and members are grieved and have expressed our condolences to the family. Dario's family survives and is left with the task of disposing of some of items that were of interest to Dario. To this end, the Society will be conducting a "silent" auction to make available items of interest to our members. Do to the difficulty of transporting both light and heavy items we will be having out next Saturday Workshop at Dario's home. The time for this special workshop will be 9:30 to noon or until we have finished the task. 

Some of the items you can expect to find are:

1. Microscopes of different kinds
2. Microscope accessories (various equipment).
3. Cameras, both film and digital.
4. And perhaps even some machine shop equipment, maybe even a lathe, mill, drill press and shop full of other accessories.
